This is Planet No. 224. After creating numerous works in my Planet Series, I have been torn between flow states and restlessness. When painting takes me into flow, it’s like opening a channel; creation happens in an instant, a kind of emergence. Too much detail only disrupts this smooth process. What troubles me is the urge to bring the images in my mind to life as quickly as possible. I prefer to finish a painting in no more than one day, two at most.
